"He must have been five feet tall, prematurely balding and his well cut beige suit was unable to disguise the fact that he'd lost a stone since Danny had last seen him"

What is the meaning of the phrase "the fact that he'd lost a stone "?

This is more of a slang; than an actual English phrase.
"To lose a stone" means to lose a lot of weight. 1 stone is 14 pounds.
