Considered to be the top management school of India, and one of the toughest B-school in the world to get into, the IIM - Kozhikode was founded in 1996 and boasts of its prestigious and highly rigorous curriculum. The program nurtures world-class managers by exposing them to real life unstructured situations along with analytical tools and business philosophies. Students gain conceptual insights into managerial decision-making while fine tuning their interpersonal skills.
Post Graduate Program (PGP) Management is 2 year, full-time residential program that allows students the time and pace to discover their area of interest. The Fellow Program in Management (FPM) is a 3-4 year, research intensive, doctoral program. The school also offers several executive MBA programs of shorter duration.
The institute also offers an "Interactive Distance Learning Programme".
IIMs conduct their own entrance test, known as the CAT, which is used to evaluate an applicant's eligibility for the program. Based on the overall profile of the candidate and his/her CAT scores, invitations for group discussions and personal interviews are sent to selected set of candidates.
The CAT is usually held in November each year.
IIM Kozhikode fees for 2008-10 program are approx. Rs. 6,00,000. This includes all miscellaneous expenses.
The average domestic salary bagged by the class of 2008 was 14.8 lakh p.a. Top recruiters for the year 2008 include ABN AMRO, American Express, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, KMPG, McKinsey and Accenture.
