Considered to be the top management school of India, and one of the toughest B-school in the world to get into, the IIM - Indore was founded in 1998 and boasts of its prestigious and highly rigorous curriculum and a large, beautiful campus. The program nurtures world-class managers by exposing them to real life unstructured situations along with analytical tools and business philosophies. Students gain conceptual insights into managerial decision-making while fine tuning their interpersonal skills.

Courses:

1. Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a 4-5 years Doctoral Programme designed to provide a broad understanding of the field of management and deep insights in specific areas (breadth and depth of knowledge to doctoral participants in management). The programme equips the participants for careers in teaching, training, research, and consulting.
2. The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) is a two year full time programme.
3. Executive Post-Graduate Programme (Exe-PGP) is an 18-months programme, designed for working executives.


Admissions:

IIMs conduct their own entrance test, known as the CAT, which is used to evaluate an applicant's eligibility for the program. Based on the overall profile of the candidate and his/her CAT scores, invitations for group discussions and personal interviews are sent to selected set of candidates.

Class Profile:

IIM Indore 2007 PGP class consisted of 21% freshers and 48% students with 0-21 months of work experience. 86% students came from engineering background and 3% from commerce. Technology constitutes a major domain with 60% students from this sector.


Timeline:

The CAT is usually held in November each year.

Course Fee:

Fees for 2007-9 program are approx. Rs. 1,90,000.

Placements:

The average domestic salary bagged by the class of 2008 was INR 13 lakh p.a. Top recruiters for the year 2008 include - McKinsey, Accenture, Capgemini, Hindustan Unilever, Lehman Brothers and Colgate Palmolive.
