A glib talker in a team usually gets the biggest raise. A smooth salesman will sell the most. How well you can present your point can make or mar a strategic decision in a meeting. Are communication skills given too much importance in today's business world?
Communication skills rather than overrated many times get misinterpreted as language skills, communication is not only about one's language skills but understanding the issue and then communicating the solution ( may be offered by other people/ expertise) to the right personnel. In some cases following a difficult or global language like English can hamper the success of the solution due to incapability of language skills of the recipient.
In business field they require a good communication skill. Because each customer is valuable. So in this present tough marketing situation they need a well conversational skill to attract the people.
